【FKM （Viton® / FKM Oil Seal）】
FKM fluororubber oil seals (commonly known as Viton®) are high-performance oil seal materials
with excellent high-temperature resistance, oil resistance, and chemical resistance.
Its features include the ability to withstand harsh environmental conditions, including high temperature,
high speed, strong corrosive media and long-term operation, and it is widely used in automobiles,
machinery, chemical industry and hydraulic equipment.
FKM is considered a "high-end oil seal material" and is often used in applications where general NBR cannot withstand the load.
一、Key Material Properties
Excellent high temperature resistance
- Operating temperature range: -20°C to +200°C
- Instantaneous temperature resistance up to 230°C (depending on formulation)
- Suitable for high-heat environments such as engine surrounds, gearboxes, and turbocharger equipment.
Excellent oil and fuel resistance
- It exhibits extremely high stability with mineral oil, gear oil, hydraulic oil, ATF, and fuel oil (gasoline/diesel).
- It is not prone to swelling, hardening, or failure.
High chemical resistance
Able to resist:
- Acids, alkalis
- Most solvents
- Synthetic oils, bio-oils
- Automotive fuels, lubricants
→ Particularly suitable for use in chemical equipment, automotive engines, and hydraulic equipment.
Wear-resistant, low-friction resistant, and long service life
- Low lip wear
- Low operating temperature rise
- Especially suitable for high-speed rotating shaft seals
Excellent weather resistance and ozone resistance
- Unaffected by sunlight and ozone aging
- Suitable for outdoor and heavy machinery environments

三、Common structures can be paired with FKM (Oil Seal Types).
FKM material can be used for various oil seal types, including：
- TC type (double lip, most common)
- SC type (rubber housing + single lip)
- VA / VC metal housing type oil seal
- TB type (single lip + dustproof auxiliary lip)
- Rotary shaft high-speed sealing type
→ If the environment is dusty, it is recommended to use TC (double lip) to improve dust protection.
